Kaniksu Internet is excited to be running fiber in select communities! While we have shown people that wireless internet can be a fast and reliable solution for internet access, we also understand that some areas either don't have a good view of our wireless equipment, or have unique needs that are better met with fiber.
We currently have fiber available in Clark Fork and parts of Hope. More areas will be coming soon, starting this spring and summer.
We have started putting together a list of frequently asked questions (FAQ) based on the conversations we have had with people. We are including the commong questions below for you to review.
Sign Up for Kaniksu FiberHow much will it cost to install?
The cost to install fiber to your home will vary some, mostly depending on the difficulty in getting the fiber optic cable from the street to your home or business. Before we start your installation, we will provide you with an estimate, where we will go over how we recommend getting the fiber cable from the street. With a standard installation, we don't anticipate it being more than $250, in many cases it will be less.
When will it be available at my address?
It will vary a bit by community. The best is to let us know where you live, and that you are interested, and we'll keep you posted as we get fiber into your community.
How will you run the fiber?
It really will vary depending on the community. Where possible and economically viable, we will run the fiber underground. There are locations where terrain or other factors do not make it a good option, but will do our best to stay underground.
What speeds and how much will it cost?
We have our fiber plans published on our website. Click on the appropriate link below-
What if fiber isn't available immediately for my address?
For most people, we can provide you with a wireless internet connection while you wait. With speeds between 15-75 Mbps, our wireless service will allow you to stream or game to your hearts content!
